About the event
Led by astrophysicist Dr. JoEllen McBride, this hands-on workshop will guide families through the basics of astronomy. Participants will also have the chance to learn about telescopes and how both astronomers and enthusiasts use them to learn more about the universe around us. Weather permitting, workshop participants will also have the chance to do stargazing with the help of telescopes. American Helicopter Museum staff will guide participants through focusing and aiming the telescope, and teach about what they are seeing! The Astronomy Workshop is for both children and adults, ages 3 and up.
