Our museum offers you total flexibility in designing your day. From a ceremony in the theater to dinner and dancing among our collection of helicopters, to a tented reception under the stars overlooking the nearby runways, you can create special your day your own way. The American Helicopter Museum & Education Center is conveniently located just outside of the beautiful and historic borough of West Chester, with many shops, restaurants and hotels for your guests to enjoy. Plus, we are just 30 miles from Center City Philadelphia, making us close to all of the rich culture, history and nightlife that Philly has to offer.

Can I touch or climb in the aircraft?Several aircraft are available for visitors to enter. Aircraft that you are not permitted to enter are either closed or have stanchions to prevent entry. If you are unsure, please ask a staff member.

Can I fly my drone at the museum?No. Due to FAA regulations, no one may launch a drone from the museum’s property.

Are pets or service animals permitted at the museum?Service animals are permitted but pets are prohibited.

Is there a charge for parking?No.

Is the museum handicapped accessible?Yes.

Are there designated smoking areas?No. The building and grounds are non-smoking.

Does the museum offer guided tours?The museum is a self-guided experience, with docents (availability varies) and staff in the gallery to answer questions. Group tours, which include a special program, are available; more info is available here.

Can I bring food?Yes. We have an indoor lunch room and outside picnic tables where you may eat your pre-packed lunch. Except on some special occasions (such as FamilyFest), the museum only offers snacks and drinks for purchase.

Are there special rules for photographing the aircraft?No. You are welcome to photograph our collection. Please follow the guidelines for closed aircraft.

Can I fly in to visit the museum?Any requests to fly into the Brandywine Airport (OQN) must be arranged through the airport.
