About the event
Event Purpose: To celebrate and uplift LGBTQ+ voices across the aviation sectors and connect individuals interested in aviation or aviation professionals with industry LGBTQ+ organizations and ally organizations.
Event Overview: Various aviation and academic-related LGBTQ+ groups are welcome to bring printed materials, handouts, and other related items for their groups. A moderated panel, “LGBTQ+ Voices in Aviation,” of people from various roles and organizations will be held in the museum theater. The event is family-friendly, open to the public during museum hours, and geared towards high school and college students, aviation enthusiasts, and aviation professionals.
AHMEC will also unveil a new biographical exhibit about trailblazing helicopter pilot and NASA astronaut, Wendy Lawrence, at this event, as well as an aviation matching game.
