Mar 07, 2026, 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM

American Helicopter Museum , 1220 American Blvd, West Chester, PA 19380, USA

About the event

Throughout history, women have played a vital part in the advancement of science. The first person to be called a scientist was Mary Somerville, a Scottish mathematician and astronomer in the 19th century. Often, women's contributions have been muted or lost to history.

In this workshop, students ages 7-12 will learn the stories of some incredible women and their breakthrough experiments that have changed science forever.

We’ll discuss the work of such scientists as Marie Curie, Ada Lovelace, Rosalind Franklin, and Chien-Shiung Wu, and repeat some of their experiments ourselves!
